Affordable Lipstick Haul+ Review

Swatches Without Flash

Swatches With Flash

These L.A. Colors lipsticks can be said to be amazing especially for the price, at just £1.00 each (yess i know a bargain) they are decently pigmented (id say an 8/10 on colour pay off) and the brand holds an unbelievable colour selection so you're practically spoilt for choice, from matte, satin to even shimmery lip shades. From previous experience with their lip-liners which have become a 'holy-grail' product ever since (and are just 99p each!!), I had high expectations from their lipsticks and they sure didn't disappoint. I picked up some staple colours, a neutral everyday shade to purples reds and a dark brown. SWATCHES CAN BE SEEN ABOVE.
-Review-
My favourite shade has to be Taupe Envy a nude shade which  I think is a dupe for MAC's Taupe lipstick the only difference is that Taupe Envy has a satin finish whereas Taupe has a matte finish. Another dupe is the shade Amethyst a matte shade which can be considered to be a close dupe for MAC's Up the Amp the colour is almost identical. The only downside to these lipsticks is that the matte shades don't really have a traditional matte finish id say they have a semi-matte finish on the borderline of a creamy finish. Another aspect is that after a few hours you do need to re apply the lip colour but that's not a really big problem for me as I don't mind
These lipsticks can be picked up from the store Beauty Base situated in Westfield Shopping Centres and online at beautybase.com

Overall these lipsticks are amazing for their price! Saida J. Stay Pretty. X

My so-called 'Everyday Make-Up Routine'

As an individual who loves make-up (obviously) I'm always trying out new products and with this in mind my routine is pretty much ever changing as I discover amazingly new products so with this in mind lets begin!

One of the important elements I find when applying your make-up is to have a flawless and good base to start off with and to work from, whether your going for a natural or full coverage look. What I use to achieve a flawless base on a regular basis is the L'oreal True Match Foundation, and to achieve the perfect colour for this summer term I use the shades N6.5 Caramel/toffee and mix it with a tiny bit of N8 Cappuccino (or i use the Estee Lauder Doublewear). In regards to the True Match, I find that in the UK stores such as Superdrugs and Boots they DON'T stock hardly any medium-dark shades which can be quite frustrating as I have to buy two shades to find the right colour when there are other shades available which aren't being stocked (for example i could've bought N7 Amber which would've been the perfect shade but it always seems not to be stocked anywhere)!

With this aside I would say that this foundation provides a medium coverage which is certainly buildable and which also can be sheered out too, to provide a more natural look. to apply the foundation I use the Real techniques expert face brush which I can say is amazing  (if you would like to see a review on the real technique brushes please let me know).

Moving onto concealer I switch it up between the MAC Prolongwear concealer in NC45 as a skin-tone shade or NW35 for highlighting purposes or the L.A Girl Pro Concealer in Fawn for a slight and subtle highlight. Both these concealers definitely provide full coverage the mac ones are thin in consistency however don't be fooled the coverage is amazee! whilst the LA Girl concealers are substantially thicker but don't usually cake up which is an obvious plus.

For setting my concealer I again switch it up between different products the collection 2000 translucent setting powder and the LA colours mineral powders which are amazing and are both drugstore products!

In regards to Bronzer/Contour (WHICH IS MY FAVV STEP) i just use a a face powder which is 2-3 shades darker than my natural skin-tone and use this to bronze up my cheekbones along with my jawline and outer perimeters of my face.

As a highlighter I mainly use my sleek blush in rose gold which is a lovely iridescent goldtoned highlight and I use this on the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose and cupids-bow for that glow.

With the eyes I usually keep it simple with just mascara and/or a classic winged liner; the mascara that i use gives amazing length this is the L'oreal Telescopic mascara and the eyeliner is the collection 2000 fast stroke eyeliner which is amazingly matte and black.

To top it all off the lipsticks and lipliners are always rotating varying from the neutral shades to the dramatic, heres a few that i use MAC's Taupe, LA Colours lipliners in Natural, Sienna, Dark Brown, Red, Smooth Plum, Wet'n'wilds Bare It All. With the lips I almost always go with a matte lip.

So that's my everyday' routine! As it may sound complicated it really isn't ,these steps usually take me about 10minutes to do so don't be fooled, practice really does make a difference.

On that note please leave comments or contact me on what you would like to see this can be anything!

Skin Care- MASKS

*picture of sample size (I've already used most of it)*

First post regarding Health & Skincare will be on an amazing product I've recently tried and fell in love with almost straightaway! This mask is from Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics and is called Cosmetic warrior. As a person who has dry yet delicate skin which is prone to spots I struggle to find a mask which doesn't leave my face dull and extremely dry after application. Lush was always a store which I passed and never delved into whilst shopping however, my friend recommended that we try and sample some products. Lush are very generous when coming to samples in regards to the mask section and we had an amazing member of staff who catered to our every need, I told her my skin condition (that it was dry and prone to spots) and then she straightaway recommended the Cosmetic warrior mask which has antibacterial properties from the tea tree and garlic ingredients as well as moisturizing properties from the honey. She offered for me to take a sample home to try and I must say I will definitely be repurchasing this product as I genuinely see results after just one use; my skin feels soft and most importantly moisturized after application (EVERYTHING I LOOK FOR IN A MASK!), and I've also seen a shrinkage of my spotty areas.

An amazing aspect of this product is that it is inexpensive retailing at £6.25 which as a student is a reasonable and affordable price. The philosophy of the brand is also amazing as they are sourced from mainly natural and preservative free ingredients and they also do not test on animals or buy their ingredients from those who do.

For more information regarding this product here's a link to the lush website which gives a detailed insight on the properties of the mask and what each ingredient targets. https://www.lush.co.uk/products/cosmetic-warrior
